Hi,

My computer will not POST, nor will the fans start. There is a green
light on the motherboard. I have unplugged all peripherals. I have also
reseated all power. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on?

Thanks,
NBK

first try turning the PS off and disconnect the plug. then after a minute
plug it back in and turn the PS back on and see if that works. If it doesn't
then try a new PS.

guess is the power supply, just replaced one on a abit board using the same
chipset.
if you can get you hands on a PS just disconnect the old one and connect the
new one to the main board connection, cpu and video card power (if it has
one) and see if it boots. If it does connect the rest of the
stuff. If it doesn't the board maybe shot.

Based on the motherboard model, it sounds like you have had this
computer a long time. When was the last time it worked?

Thanks all for responding,

It was a dead PSU and i discovered that the case power button stopped
working properly. I tried a known working PSU and had to take the face
plate off to power it on.

Now i have to replace the case and the PSU!!!

I had planned to sell this box.

Apparently either your power supply unit and/or your motherboard has failed.
The easiest way to start diagnosing the problem is to replace the PSU with a
known working one and see if that fixes the problem.

Even with bad components there is usually some power the fan spinning at
least but sometimes fans go bad and won't work. See if you can start the
fan by giving the blades a push. Even if this works it doesn't explain
why it won't post. Check the switch on the back of the power supply to
make sure its on and make sure you have the right voltage setting for
your power. Check all of your case wires to make sure they are correctly
plugged in.
