no authority could be contacted for authentication

Hi,

I have set-up a Windows 2000 two way external trust which has been verified
from both domains without any errors.

When I try and add view an account on the other domain I recieve the following
error message: "no authority could be contacted for authentication".

No errors appear in the eventlog and the error occurs from both domains.
Any ideas.

Thank you

John

John,

Is DNS set up correctly? Is this with another WIN2000 environment or with a
WINNT 4.0 environment? In the case of WINNT 4.0, is WINS set up correctly
( or LMHOSTS files on the WINNT 4.0 PDC and the WIN2000 DC that holds the
FSMO role of PDC Emulator )?

Hi,

Both the domains are Windows 2000 domains. The DNS resolution is working as
expected. I think the problem could be down to port 3268 being blocked on
one of the firewalls. I'm waiting for a firewall change to occur in order to
retest.

Thank you
John
