no audio on TV

Burned a movie file (.avi) DVD that plays perfect on my PC but when I put it
into my newer DVD player I have great video but no audio. Just some scratchy
noise when I turn up the volume. Burned movie file on two different types of
media with same result. My DVD player has no problem playing other .avi
files using same technique(s). Any ideas? Thanks, Steve T.

Standalone DVD players have strict guidelines and limitations where
a PC doesn't and that's probably why you can play it on the PC and
not the standalone. The only supported audio for a hardware dvd
players are PCM, AC3 or DTS. You might want to run the avi through
Gspot or MediaInfo to see if it has the correct codec.

Gspot doesn't recognize the movie file so I guess I'm out of luck. Wasted
too much time on this anyway. Thank you for your time, Steve T.
