No Audio on Startup/Log off

This isn't a big deal, but strange. When I boot my computer and log on to my account (or Log off), I don't get any audio. I've checked the "Sound Scheme" and it's set to defaults- which should have sound. If I log in with my other accound (a guest account) it works normally. I'm using a Sound Blaster Audigy 2

I know computers pretty well and can't find anything that would affect this

any ideas
Thanks
