Okay this is killing me. You know how you have the little
speaker by your clock on your desktop? Well its not there
anymore. I tried to go into Control panel and
choose "Sounds and Audio devices" and then clicked
on "Place volume icon on task bar" but it still wont
show. any ideas?

Hi,

Have you tried reinstalling/updating your sound card drivers yet?

It's "hidden" in all likelihood. To unhide:
-Right-click a blank area on the tasknar and unmark "Lock the Taskbar".
-Right-click a blank area on the taskbar again, this time, selecting
Properties. In the dialog box click on "Customize" button in lower-Left
corner.
-In next dialog box, scroll to locate "Volume", highlight it,then in area to
the right, click on the upside-down triangle to get 3 choices; click on
"Always show".
-OK and Apply and OK to exit. Then lock the Taskbar.

Hopefully, it is now visible in the System Tray by the clock.
