I've tried so many ways to do a clean re-install, without success. It seems
my computer insists on having only the Administrator do ANYTHING on it.
Should I take out the battery and starve it to death?

How are you trying to do the reinstall? You should be booting your computer
from the Windows installation CD. Usually if you reboot the computer with the
CD in the drive a prompt will appear asking you to press any key to boot from
the CD; however you might need to reconfigure the BIOS settings first to allow
booting from CD.

Don't forget to save your data to external media first. You'll want to erase
the disk, which will delete absolutely everything.

Harry.
