Next Office/Windows/Word upgrade?

Does anyone know when Microsoft will release the next version of
Office--and/or Windows?
I'm a teacher, and I don't want to buy Office 2003 for our computer labs if
Microsoft plans a new version soon. I might as well wait until the newest
product is available. (Doesn't "Office 2003" sound outdated...especially
since it's almost 2006!

Office 2003 is likely to be robust for at least another five years. There
are people happily using Word 97 out there.

My experience is that few new versions of Microsoft (or other software)
products are released bug-free. It often takes six months to a year to shake
out major problems. (The problems have generally gotten less major in later
years, though.)

Bearing in mind what Charles has said, I think MS *hopes* to get both Office
12 and Vista (the next version of Windows) out the door sometime next fall
or possibly early 2007.
