As the title says really, Will you be upgrading when its released?

WPC 2012 Microsoft has set the date for the release of Windows 8: the operating system will be released to manufacturers in August ahead of a general release at the end of October.

"The wait is almost over," said Tami Reller, chief marketing officer of Microsoft's Windows division. "Windows 8 is on track to be released to manufacturing the first week in August and Windows 8 will reach general availability at the end of October. New Windows 8 PCs will be available to buy and upgrades will be available."

As for me, I'm not sure yet. A few years ago and I'd have definitely grabbed it, but I honestly dont know about this, i still havent't actually tried it...

I don't think so. Windows 7 is doing just great for me. My opinion is why fix something that aint broke. I have the Release Preview on one of my laptops, and try as I might I just can't get to grips with it at all.

I'm not going to buy a copy of windows 8 for this current PC, but when I build a new one in a year or so it will have the latest OS installed.

A very definite no. I've tried Win 8 and it's truly awful, which is a bit of a shame. And I'm actually quite fond of Win 7, it works well.

Not sure yet... Ian said he might give it a try, so I guess I'll wait and see what he thinks. If all I hear is him cussing at his PC then maybe not!!

The poor PC it has no capability to answer him back

I am very happy with Linux but if it comes with a new PC whenever I buy it in future it cannot be helped.

Seeing as I finally upgraded my main computer at home to Windows 7 a week ago, I don't see a reason to go to an OS that I don't really see the point of anyway....
