NewsPlex 4.0 released

NewsPlex 4.0 is now available for downloading at
http://newsplex.webstylists.com/download/
in Windows and Linux versions.

NewsPlex is a freeware Usenet news-server aggregator,
transparently creating one virtual news-server out of dozens
of probably incomplete real servers.

Some of the new features:

- Most command-line options and all "server flags"
replaced with fully spelled-out "settings",
residing in .ini files (like etc/newsplex.ini).

- Automatic server numbering.

- Multiple posting news-servers with automated selection.

- Better handling of unexpected errors in response to
XHDR MESSAGE-ID or XPAT MESSAGE-ID commands.

- Auto-configuration finds more news-servers at the ISP
and on the local network.

- Article retrieval by Message-ID even if no current news-group
selected.

- XPAT and DATE commands.

- Cross-post management.

- LISTGROUP instead of GROUP to enter hidden groups.

- Real-time article filtering.

- New background mode on Windows allows to terminate gracefully
on system shutdowns.

- NpUud can put decoded files and .hdrs into subdirectories named
after "Date:" line. New "interactive ignoring" mode allows to
easily deal with files where comments are mixed with encoded
content.
