I am thinking of changing my ISP. I know if I change my email addr. I change
the server name in OE. I assume the same goes for Newsgroups. But what I'd
like to know is if I have Newsgroups already do I have to unsubscribe /
resubscribe to them over again or will they carry over? TIA

They won't carry over.

It depends on what Sever is setup in the properties in the News
Account. If you are using an ISP based server you'd have to
change to the new ISP. If the server is say a Microsoft operated
one then no changes would be required. But the News accounts
themselves would remain setup, you'd only have to modify the
Server/Username/Password to continue using what you've already
established.

If you're accessing the Microsoft newsgroups via the msnews.microsoft.com server
there's no change required, otherwise all will be new for your new NNTP server.

A quick check of the OP's headers show he's using Verizon, not MSNEWS.

In general, no it doesn't apply to newsgroups. But it depends on what
news server(s) you use (see below).

In fact, most news servers don't even require you to use your real
E-mail address in newsgroups, and most of us don't (I use the fake
address (e-mail address removed)). I recommend that you also
do not use your real address, since it exposes it to spambots which
harvest addresses from these groups.

Some E-mail servers require you to logon with real info that
identifies you, but this is fairly rare. If you use the news server
provided by your ISP, it's unlikely that this will be an issue for
you.

No, you don't have to unsubscribe and resubscribe. All you should need
to do is change the server info in OE (which I see you are using). You
*can* change your E-mail address, but you don't need to. Again, I
recommend changing to an invalid fake address.
