News menu item appears damaged - How to repair

H

Howard Cross

Help - I'm Using Outlook 2003. I had a NEWS menu item that fired off Outlook
Express. Something happened this evening that corrupted that menu item. I
tried using the Detect and Repair feature with no success.

When I choose the News menu item it opens the directory (path = C:\Program
Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033). I'm confused... I can launch Outlook
Express from the start menu so OE does not appear to be damaged.

Do I need to re-install Office 2003 again?

TIA

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.
