News groups on Office Outlook??

Something apparently so simple I have managed to turn into a major headache.

I followed the simple instructions on how to launch the newsreader in office
outlook. I went to add new button, went to the Go menu and selected 'news'
as instructed by outlook help. Everything was going swell till I shut down
my outlook. The news tab was on my Go menu until I re-opened outlook. It
was no longer there......i tried to follow the instructions to add it again,
and now the news option has gone completely and i cannot find it anywhere! I
was even tempted to take the back off and see if it had fallen off my hard
disk (joke)

Any suggestions?

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.
