NEWLY INSTALLED WINDOWS XP DEACTIVATED PRODUCT KEYS DON'T WORK

P

PURPLE PAW

I INSTALLED WINDOWS XP FROM A FRIENDS DISK NEXT TO A PRIEVIOUS WINDOWS
OPERATING SYSTEM AND IT WORKED FINE FOR 2 WEEKS, IT THEN ASKED FOR THE
WINDOWS TO BE ACTIVATED.

IT SAID TO IMPUT THE PRODUCT KEY WHICH I DID BUT IT SAYS IT'S WRONG SO I
USED THE ONE THAT CAME WITH MY LAPTOP THAT WAS FROM THE ORIGINAL WINDOWS
OPERATING SYSTEM BUT THAT DOESN'T WORK EITHER!

NOW THE WINDOWS HAS LOCKED ITS SELF OFF AND I CAN'T ACCESS MY COMPUTER AT ALL.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

(SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS DIDN'T REALIZE TILL I FINISHED)

In order to use the Key, printed on the bottom of the Laptop, you have to
use an identical version of the winxp cd.
Also depending on Laptop make the key may be applicable only to a particular
OEM version
If you want to use your friends winxp and 'its' key then your friend would
have to be no longer useing his install of winxp.

What you have done is a violation of the license agreement, and if the
version you installed isn't the same as the version your licensed for, of
course your key isn't going to work.

So I guess its time to use the Restore CD or Partition that came with your
laptop........and your manual will tell you how.
There is a price to pay for this and its the complete destruction of
whatever you have installed on your laptop since your purchase...hopefully
you have the CD for the programs you installed and have backed up all of
your relevant work.............but I doubt if you were that smart.
You stated that you install "NEXT" to a previous installation.......were you
trying for a dual boot and now you have 2 XP installations on the
partition???

Disconect from the internet and put the key in. I have a friend that had
about the same problem. It was loging on MS and checking instantly. This
solved his problem.
