Product Key

My laptop crashed. I have my Windows XP Pro Disk and I thought I found my
Product Key but It does not work. How can I verify my Product key?
 
The product key is usually found on the COA sticker on the bottom of the
laptop. You failed to provide any info on the laptop or XP disk your using
so we can only guess, I would day your using a retail installation disk and
trying to use the key on the laptop, which won't work as you found out, you
need to use OEM installation media with that key.

If by "my Windows XP Pro Disk" you mean the one that came with the
laptop, and by "my Product Key" you mean the one on the sticker on the
bottom of the laptop, it normally won't ask for the key as these are
almost always set up to activate against the BIOS. But, if it is, it
should still work but you have to call MS to activate (it should give
you a number to call).
