I am having problems adjusting to my new O/S. A couple of things I miss are:
an icon to bring up the desk top (like when I want to shut off my screen
saver) - I think there is a keyboard shortcut to minimize all windows, but I
don't know it.

Second thing is an icon to immediately launch the screen saver - I have one
in W98 which I like when I want to hide my work. Any ideas?

It is called the Show Desktop icon. You enable the Quick Launch bar to use
it. If a short row of icons does not appear to the right of your Start
button, right click on an empty area of the Taskbar and uncheck Lock the
Taskbar. Right click on the Taskbar again and select Toolbars/Quick Launch
toolbar. If you do not see the blue Show the Desktop icon, it is hiding and
you can click on the right chevron ( >>) to see it. You can drag it to the
visible area of the Quick Launch toolbar if you like.

You can also simply right click on the Taskbar and choose "show the desktop"
plus some other windows controls, and run the Task Manager without hitting
CTRL-Alt-Del.

I think the Boss button (show the screensaver quick, the Boss is coming) may
be third party.

The boss button...I thought there was a way in previus versions of windows to
launch the screen saver immeadiately by moving the mouse into a preselectd
corner. Has that function not survived? Or, if it has where do I find the
setup screen?

I've never heard of the boss button as being part of windows but remember
there were some games that have it. Funny thing.

you can always create a shortcut for your screen saver or anyother
application you want to use as your boss button.
