Is it possible to completely remove IE from a system running XP Home edition?
I have downloaded the Mozilla browser and would prefer to use this. If it can
be easily removed from my system then this would free up some hd space.

No, is the short answer. Besides, you need IE to download Windows Updates -
no other browser will work.
