newbie problem with RegisterServiceProcesses

On startup I get the ominous sounding message that the 'procedure entry
point for RegisterServiceProcesses could not be located in dll
KERNEL32.dll.'

On the other hand things seem to work OK (aside from that message), so is
this really a bad thing? How do you get rid of the message (or the problem
that produces it)?

Running Win XP SP 2 in a new Dell.

Start | Run | msconfig

Look on the Startup tab and see if you can identify what is trying to
startup that you don't want/need. Uncheck that and reboot to see if
problem goes away.

and it seems to have helped.
