Newbie: How To Home Network Win98 (Lan Cable) XP(Wifi)

I have an 866 PIII w/Win98SE connected to the internet via a
2Wire(1000HW)DSL Modem/Router with Wifi. I have an XP laptop
connected to that Cable Modem via Wifi. Both are working well with
Internet access.

1. Is there somewhere that I can find the exact steps to share files
between the two without making a mistake and exposing my files to the
net? I understand it is a little more difficult when one of the
machines is a Win98 box and the other XP.

2. Must I purchase a print server to print wirelessly from the XP
laptop or can I somehow get this to work via the wifi connection I
currently have with the Win98 box?
