Newbie - fade to black effect in MM2

I recently got a new PC and MM2 (4 days ago actually) and have had a go at
creating a couple of short movies. I have to say that so far I'm impressed
with the ease of use of the program.

Does anybody know if it's possible to adjust the period of the fade from/to
black effects? I suppose I could just fade in or out from/to a pure black
still and adjust the length of the fade transition, but it would be simpler
if I could adjust the properties of the effect itself.

In a similar vein, is it possible to alter the timing of the fade effect on
the audio track?

Thanks

In answer to my own question, I Googled back a month and found the answer to
my question courtesy of someone called Gareth Howell.

Thanks Gareth.

That sounds like something that could be useful, any way
you can post the answer here?

Easier if you go to http://www.papajohn.org and navigate to Editing ->
Audio -> General you'll find what you're looking for (i.e. audio fade
control) in the last paragraph.

For video fade to black, or white, or any other colour or still image,
simply insert a black, white, coloured or still image into your timeline or
storyboard, insert the fade effect between the two clips and adjust the
length of the fade effect. To create a black (or white or any other colour)
still, just create a 320 x 240 .bmp image in Paint.
