new XP desktop adding to domain

I'm trying to connect my new desktop to be able to access
my home domain..called "MYDOMAIN". I click MY Computer
properties and click network ID or i try to change the
domain of the desktop and this is the error i get. If
you have any suggestions to fix this problem, let me know

Which versions of XP are you using on each machine?
Do you mean domain or workgroup?
Do you have an active domain /login server on your network?

If your desktop pc is using XP Home it will not be able to join the domain, only XP Professional can do so

Yes, i am aware of that; however, both computers use XP
Professional
