new Windows Xp installing and Patching

I am doing testing at my work. After installing windows
Xp professional, i download the critical updates from
microsoft website. Does the crictical update include the
Patch(SP1)? Do i have to physical patch the pc after
fresh installation of windows XP Pro?

SP1 is a Critical Update.
To check if it is installed:
Right click My Computer, click Properties.
It should say "Service Pack 1" under System.
You should install ALL Critical Updates.
