New Windows Update Available

I just received an Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Vista for
x64-based Systems (KB976749)
Installation date: ‎11/‎3/‎2009 12:16 PM
Installation status: Successful
Update type: Important
Install this update to resolve issues that may occur after installing the
Internet Explorer cumulative security update issued as MS09-054
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms09-054.mspx). After
you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Now i don't know about other combinations- XP-IE6-IE8, etc. BUT DO
NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE UNLESS YOU HAVE (KB974455) INSTALLED FIRST.

Important Do not install this update if you have not installed security
update 974455. If you install this update without first installing security
update 974455, Internet Explorer may not work correctly. If this occurs,
uninstall this update, install security update 974455, and then reinstall
this update.

I believe this will be offered to anyone with KB974455 already installed,
and running XP, Vista, or Server 2003, and I think Server 2008 and Windows 7
for that matter.

This is a re-issue of the previous patch with some changes which correct
deficiencies some users saw in HTML rendering after the original patch.

I got the shield this a.m. for it, and I still run IE6 but do have KB974455.
Installed fine, just needed a reboot. :)

just make sure you have this kb before you install it
I saw it on a client's computer and he did not have the original kb974455
and thank goodness he asked me what to do before he installed it

No problem Ron. I was kind of shocked when I saw the shield, but when it said
update for IE6 I knew it needed to be done. I double checked to make sure I
had the other one too. Enjoy....JJ :)
