New window lag

Whenever I click a link that opens a new window (such as
the 'new post' button in this newsgroup), IE freezes up
for about 30 seconds until the new window pops up. Is
anyone else experiencing this problem? I
disabled 'active scripting' in internet options >
security settings and that seemed to solve the problem,
except that I need IE to be able to run scripts...

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Or at least,
can someone point me to the right direction to fixing
this problem? Thanks.
