Yeah. I'm more into "the old stuff" myself (mind you, I would
be at my age!). I've gotta say that I'm not into "rock" though
(if you mean what I think you mean by rock). I like most of
the old "sixties" stuff myself.

Sounds like you are from my era... I'm into late 50's, early 60's "rock"
music myself. It is real disheartening to hear the DJ on a radio station say
he/she is going to play an oldie and the song is from the 80's.

I see many teenagers falling for the old rock.
I took my 17 year old niece's son to the Rolling Stones concert,
he said "this concert gave a complete different look at music"

Why would you use anything else? The Gates Haters (ie. Mac users) don't use
Macs because they're better. They use them because they despise MS. Same
goes for iTunes and RealPlayer users. They all wear tin foil hats.

btw, I got my son a Toshiba MP3 player for Christmas. 40gb. No special
software needed. He loves it and it works great. In fact, he can plug into
any XP machine and copy music, data...whatever. He uses it for backing up
also.

General discussion, how can there be an off-topic for such a wide category,
but it would fly in

And how was that an on-topic post? There are [anti-]spyware newsgroups
where your post would not be off-topic.

Hope you didn't buy any Sony music CDs!

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11/01/sony_rootkit_drm/

Rootkits are one of the nastiest things ever devised, and they dig
their evil nails so deeply into your system that you cannot then
believe anything that your compuer tells you. Sony's particular
rootkit seems to be spectacularly nasty, apparently leaving you with
a crippled machine that has to be reformatted to get it working
properly again if you discover it and try to remove it!

Mike

Here is a simple solution to stop rootkits from being installed.

I have read about people that purchase DRMed music,
burn a CD with it and then rip that CD, thus creating
DRMless MP3 files. Also, they buy the DRMed music,
save the file some where and then rip the song off a
borrowed CD. Or if a CD is not available, then they
download it from a p2p s/w client after they buy the
DRMed file.

My five year old son loves ELO and The Moody Blues. His first concert will
be to see the Moodies in February when they play here in Sarasota, Florida.
He's realy excited about it. ;-)

ELO lovers normally like The Moody Blues or vice versa.
Probably would also like Queen. Maybe also Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd.
