Hello everyone,
I've been reading the posts in the group for sometime, and I think the
resources great!
I am looking for a program that will "hide" all my desktop icons, but
will give a "tree" (or something) of these icons (like when you right
click or something like that).
Does anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks!

Is it that you want to have your desktop "icon" free but access them
when you need to?, you can do that with ME, 2K and XP already, right
click on desktop choose arrange icons then choose hide desktop icons,
to access them right click on the task bar and choose toolbars then
desktop, this will give you a toolbar on the desktop, with some
tweaking you can get this just how you want it.
hope that helps

"Is it that you want to have your desktop "icon" free but access them

Yes, that is what I want to do. I have XP Home, but when I go to
"arrange icons", the only options I get are (arrange by) "name", "type"
and "size". There is no "hide" option!!
Maybe I have a "different" version of XP!
Any other suggestions ?
Thanks!

I use WinXP Pro. When I right click on the desktop and expand the
"Arrange Icons By" menu, there is an entry called "Show Desktop Icons"
which I can *uncheck* to hide the icons. Doesn't XP Home have this menu
item?

There should be a "Show desktop icons" (right-click "Arrange Icons By"). If
you uncheck this the icons should vanish after a few seconds. As mentioned
earlier, right-click on the taskbar > Toolbars > Desktop to have access to
everything on the desktop.

After trying 5-6 methods and programs, I settled on Hidden Menu
http://home.i-cable.com/lokinwai/

It shows nothing until you point your cursor to a chosen part of the
edge or corner....lots of options and easy to use....
