New startup.

Hi All,
I posted yesterday because I noticed a new startup screen after using
msconfig. The screen is titled "Please select the operating system to start",
but I am a bit confused why the screen appeared in the first place, &
secondly, why it is appearing when I only have just the one Windows XP
installed?
The only other option is "Recovery console". My PC is a Hewlett Packard, &
came preinstalled with Windows XP, if it`s any help.

Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced (tab) > under "Startup and
Recovery", > click the "Settings" button, on the 'Startup and Recovery"
dialogue under "System Startup, uncheck both "Time to display list of
operating systems" and "Time to display recovery options when needed:" you
can also set time display limits.
