I had purchased a Seagate hard drive (250 GB) and installed it as a
secondary drive under cable select. The drive had been working fine
until one day it could not be accessed from my computer in windows xp.
I am not sure what happened and I was hoping that someone could tell me
why it is not working and how to fix it.

Check Device Manager
Check Disk Management
Check cmos or controller bios setup

Failing that download and run the manufacturer's disk diagnostic tool.
