New PST reports max size reached after a few files are copied into

I have a Outlook 2003 user on a 2K3 SBS Standard Server running Exchange who
has multiple PST folders on his local drive. In the course of trying to
gather emails related to a legal matter we found out that trying to Export
subfolders caused a Max Size Reached error. Also does this if a new Unicode
PST is created the messages are drag and dropped. Some subfolders will not
display due to the same error. Only effects the one user. Other users can
copy or export whole mailbox without error.

I rechecked the registry entries and found out that they were set to the
decimal values in the hex entries. Corrected the values and the PST's are
working. As far as I can tell these values were not changed by any user so I
wonder if this PST exceeded the limit and part of the corruption that occured
effected the registry?
