Outlook 2007 PST 20 MB limit

I have a user who is no longer able to access her PST in Outlook 2007on
Windows XP. It started suddenly a couple of weeks ago. Her original PST was
pushing 2 GB.

I can copy the PST to a different machine and have no trouble opening it in
Outlook 2003. I tried to create a new PST in her Outlook and started copying
things to the new PST (unicode version). Once the PST reaches 20 MB, I
receive an error that the file has reached it's maximum size limit. I have
checked the registry settings for PST sizes and they were correct. I have
even tried doubling the registry settings and new PSTs still max out at 20 MB.

I've run scanpst with no errors. I've run copypst but it stops when the new
file reaches 20 MB. I've tried to export the PST to a new folder in Outlook,
but the file still maxes out at 20 MB.

I don't know what else to try.

Thanks.

Might there be a disk size limitation here?
Make sure you are working with the pst-file local to the computer. In other
words; don't connect to a pst-file that is located on a network share.

Note that there shouldn't be any registry settings for pst-files to begin
with, so if you've set them manually or by policy, remove these and try
again.

Yes, I know how that registry key works ;-)
All I'm saying is that you should remove that registry key restriction and
test how it works then; it's not needed for normal operation as when there
is no key specified, Outlook will use the default values.

The PST is local to the machine. There is plenty of space on the HD.

The registry settings I referred to are detailed here:

Roady,

I deleted those keys, found them in two different places. Then it said that
the OST had reached it's size limit. It was non-Unicode. It had been
upgrade from 98-2000-2003-2007. Turned of cached mode. Created a new mail
profile. Opened outlook with the new profile. Turned on cached mode.
Opened the PSTs. Everything seems to be working now.

Thanks.
