New programs installed

For a couple of days now, when I turn on the pc and go to
Start - All programs, I get the message "New Programs
installed", and it hightlights a couple of programs (in a
seemingly random way) that have been installed for a
while. Any help with this?
 
You can right click the Start button/Properties/Customize/Advanced and
uncheck Highlight newly installed programs.
