hi!

i installed new Intel E6750 processor and now i'm getting bluescreen..
sometimes at startup and sometimes after using computer for few minutes and
it's never the same reason.. memorycheck says that i have some kinda hardware
problem but my motherboard should support new processor

i have Vista 32-bit, Asus Commando motherboard, 4 x Kingston
KHX6400D2LLK2/2GN ddr2 (total 4 GB), XFX GeForce 7800 GTX

with my previous processor Pentium D 3,00 GHz everything is fine, Vista runs
bit slow sometimes but that's normal :)

Try running a program like CoreTemp or Speedfan and get some temperatures
from your CPU. It sounds like it may be a heat problem.

Try running on only 2 mem chips and see if this helps also are you running 32
or 64 bit version?

cpu temp is about 55-60
and cpu fan speed is 2000-2500 rpm

bios settings won't do any difference and i'm not overclocking

servicepack 1 could help i hope, it's not out in finnish yet :/

heatshink was new, one that came with processor. i replaced it and now my
temps are about 36C.

but damn bluescreen still attacks me :D troubleshooter says that my f-secure
or some other virusprogram could cause this :S

Try removing two of the memory chips. Let it run for a few minutes without
running apps. If still crashing replace with other pair and check again. This
will determine i you have one or more faulty memory cards.
I had major problems due to this and a replacement fixed it.

thanks! that really fixed the problem.

so, my motherboard should support memory i have up to 8 gigs atleast and so
should vista too.. but, no..

Not necessarily. A lot of consumer mobos do not support fully populated
memory slots at the same dram speed as can be used with fewer memory sticks.
You just have to check the mobo manufacturer's website for details.
Especially the forums.
