Recently (sometime within the past week) the microsoft windows update was
performed.
There was some update to the .net framework.

In its regularly scheduled run, Norton found a program integrity problem.
The error is that there are 10 programs in
c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727 that can't run because they
can't find msvcr80.dll

so, I do a search in windows explorer
that file turns up in a directory called
c:\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.v80.crt... (long series of letters & numbers
follow)

what gives?

should I roll back the update?

Hi,

I have the same problems and have fixed it by copied the msvcr80.dll from my
computer:

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x-ww_0de06acd\msvcr80.dll File Version8.0.50727.42

and pasted to C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder

I ran NSW2003 One Button Checkup again and the problems were gone.
