I just bought a used laptop (toshiba 8100)with windows xp
pro.
Is there anyway I can use it!!!
It seems it misses it'sprevious owner.
I'm running ex home on my home pc.,so I'm not new to
widows,but I can't seem to get my own data on this
laptop, much less log on with out using safe mode.
Any ideas on this or is this just going to be an expesive
lesson/paper weight.

You have to log on as the previous owner or with
admistrative rights. Otherwise, create a new user with
admin rights and then you should be able to add any files
you want.

If you bought it with Windows XP Pro on it then presumably you have some
sort of install disk and a licence (you certainly _should_ have the licence,
at least).

As such, the simplest solution may be a re-install of Windows.
