when i open a new word doc i, i clikc on "file-new" and i click on
"templates on my computer" on the right hand side of the screen, and i want
to add the thesis template, it doesn't appear in the window... does anyone

Hi Maya
U should copy ur custom template to
C:\Documents and Settings\<User-name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

Where <User-Name> is the Windows Xp Logon User

Alternatively U can Define ur own template by saving ur Document as
“Template†rather saving as Word-Document after giving necessary finishing
touch to ur document(template). Mention this in Save as Dialogue Box and
choose Save as Type-Template from the drop down list

Or

File-New, U will get Startup Task pan at right hand side. There u can clik
“on my computer†under “Template†Head. Now in General tab at bottom right
corner u can choose template option button under Create New

Hi Priyank

Thank you very much for the detailled explanation. I chose the second option
and now everything seems to be working fine.
The weird thing is that I don't have the following folders under my unser
name in the c-drive: Application Data\Microsoft\Templates. Nevertheless, the
template is up and running.
Regards, Maya

Hi Maya..
U r searching Application Data in root drive, which is incorrect
if ur using Win XP then U must have
C:\Documents and Settings\<User-name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
Well Application Data Folder is Normally hidden. To show this go to either
My computer or Windows Explorer-Tools-Folder Options-ViewTab - Click Show
Hidden Files and Folder

Hope this time U will get it
