New Microsoft Christmas Theme has bad bug

The new Microsoft Christmas theme has a bad bug. The 3D screen saver, which
is marvelous, will not stop. I have XP Pro SP1a on a one year old Dell
Dimension 8300 desktop. I have properties set to turn on the screen saver
after 3 minutes of inactivity and then, in energy savings, for the monitor
to turn off after 5 minutes with the hard drive always on and system standby
set to never.

This screen saver just keeps going and going and going. It never allows the
monitor to turn off thus overriding the energy saving settings I have. I
reset the settings several times but that did not help. At least one other
user has confirmed this problem on XP. We both had to go back to other
themes. I have never before had a theme override the energy saving settings
in XP. It is a shame because I loved the theme.

Any advise given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS (Normally, Usually, Generally, Sometimes :)

Not sure what to say, but if it's happening to more than one user, don't use
it. I admit I'm very boring and don't use any fancy stuff. I disable the XP
GUI settings & use the 'classic' Win2k theme and only the built-in
screensavers. I use my computer for work, and don't want the bother/resource
load of shiny new stuff like that.

Hello, If there is a sound file running this may be the cause of the monitor
not powering down. I have had several screen savers with sound files that
caused the same type action.
Take Care.

The theme works with Classic style for XP. All my themes work in that
fashion. I hate the XP GUI and eye candy.
There is a sound file that plays with the screen saver so that could be the
problem, but all my other themes have sound files with the screen savers and
they all stop running when they are supposed to.

I posted this here in an attempt to let Microsoft know that there is a
problem. Since the theme is free there is no support for it and I didn't
know what was the best way to contact MS to let them know. It is a great
theme and it is a shame that it can't be used. I can try killing the sound
file for the screen saver part but the sound is part of what makes it a nice
Christmas theme.
