new mail message shortcut

How do I add the "new mail message" icon as a shortcut on my taskbar?
I have done this using Office 2000, now using Windows XP professional,
version 5.1
 
Do you mean Office Professional 2003? Office w/ Outlook does not come with
Windows XP, only Outlook Express.
