New Mail desktop alert

I am using Outllok for my hotmail account. It is the only e-mail account
being used and therefore the default account. Why do I not receive the
notification of new e-mail pop-up when new mail arrives???
Can anyone please help with this???

New Mail alert only works with POP mail. It doesn't work with HTTP mail like
Hotmail. And free Hotmail will no longer be able to be accessed with Outlook
or OE after April. You'll have to use your browser instead.

Because that only works when you receive a new e-mail message from a POP3 server. Not a HTTP server a Web
Based e-mail provider.

is in its infancy.

Google will give you that. It's been in various places on the Internet,
including Hotmail and the Microsoft KnowledgeBase, for the last three
months.
