New maiil message - "To" field

I am composing a message for a friend who has changed her address from
(e-mail address removed) to (e-mail address removed). I have updated the address book. The
contacts folder shows the address as the gmail address. Then I start typing
Mar in the "To" field it shows a list of contacts. I select her name and
Outlook fills in "Maris Bxxxxx <[email protected]>". Where is this outdated
address coming from? Why is it not using the Addess Book? If I right click on
the address I get a window titled "Email properties". If I inser manually
from address boof the right email address, then I right click on it, the
properties show the addess book entry.

I am really frustrated by this as I cannot send it to the right addess
always. What kind of "smart" Microsft feature is this?

Did anybody else run into the same problem with Outlook XP?

When you type in the To: field, you pull from your autocompletion cache, not
your Contacts Data. Remove the invalid entry from your autocompletion cache.
Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field.
To clear the entire cache, follow the instructions here:
