new installation of Outlook 2003 crashes just after launch

Hi everyone

Just after Outlook 2003 starts, a pop-up window is displayed saying
"Configuring Outlook, Migrating Account Settings, Migrating Preferences....".
Outlook then crashes with the following message:

"Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience".

I'm then given a chance to restart Outlook and send an error report to MS,
then to start the program in safe mode. Safe mode doesn't make a difference.

I've tried Detect & Repair, a full uninstall and reinstall of Office 2003,
and installing every possible service pack and update from the Office Update
site. I've also tried the instructions in this
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=826494Anyone Knowledgebase article.
Anyone know of anything else I can try? All the other Office 2003 apps work
fine...

Also here is the entry of the crashfrom XP's event viewer, it's the same
every time Outlook 2003 crashes:

"Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.6353.0, stamp 408f2937,
faulting module outlcm.dll, version 10.0.2623.0, stamp 3a97f64e, debug? 0,
fault address 0x00023017.

Create a new profile (do not copy it);
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

To access your current pst-file in the new profile;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

To set it as the default delivery location;
Tools-> E-mail Accounts...-> button Next-> use the dropdownlist below

The dll refers to a dll of Office XP. Try running OFFCLN.EXE from the Office
2003 CD to get rid of the old versions. Then do a reinstall of Office 2003
with a clean Outlook profile.

Thanks again, that did not work but something else did. I renamed the
outlcm.dll file to outlcm.old. Outlook now seems to be running ok.

Haha, sometimes the eassiest things works the best. Strange that OFFCLN.EXE
didn't clear it for you.
Good to hear everything works OK now.

Well, when I ran that I had it leave Frontpage 2002 installed. It did remove
a bunch of other stuff though.

The simplest things...
