I am seeting up a new home network. I have 2 pc's one using XP Pro sp2 and
the other is XP media center. My router is a netgear RP614 ethernet. I have
used the wizard on both PCs to configure the network connections. I have
turned off both firewalls and enabled sharing on the appropriate folders.
From the XP Pro machine I can access the files on the XP media ctr machine.
On the XP media machine, the network connection points back to the files on
itself. No matter how many times I try, the nework wizard will not change or
modify network connection. I cannot find anything that will allow me to
delete it or remove it.
Please help!! Thank you

Tom,

The problem of asymmetrical access in network neighborhood has several possible
causes. Please start with my troubleshooting guide:
