New Hardware

I am replacing a failed motherboard. When I try to boot with the same
harddrive and the new board I get a blue screen message telling me to
Stop....if this is the first time you have received this message.... I have
tried to reboot and to use safe mode to no avail. Is this related to a new
motherboard and same harddrive? Any help??
