new hard drive

after transfering info frm a 20 G hard rive to a 60 G hard
drive using the file and settings transfer wizard, all the
programs and files are there, but there is nothing listed
in "All Programs", or on my desktop, or on my startup. Any
suggestions?
 
Verify that you don't have more than one profile. If you do have more than
one profile you can check the "Documents and Settings\<profile
name>\Desktop" directory to see which profile contains the icons you are
missing. Logon using that profile and you should see your information.
 
The Files and Settings Transfer Wizard will not move your applications.
The best way to migrate your applications from an old hard disk to a new one
is to reinstall those applications. This also lets you 'refresh' them at the
same time by downloading patches and fixes.
