New hard drive not appearing in My computer but shows in BIOS and.

Ok, I have a new hard drive, Its installed though the primary slave connector
etc and powered up. This hard drive registered no problem with my BIOS. Now
that I am in windows it shows up in my Device Manager. The problem is that
the new hard drive does not appear in My Computer. Can anyone help? Thanks in
advance.
 
Hi Marcus,

It's been a while since I've played with XP, but it might go something
like this.

Start/settings/control panel/administration tools/computer
management/storage/disk management

See if your new drive needs a format and drive letter before it'll let
you fondle it.
