New gaming desktop - advice please

Hi all, hope weekends were good all round.

They've confirmed to me it would either be a Corsair or Antec (are Antec's any good?)

The motherboard would be a B3 revision version so no issues there.

I guess that's probably all, except that it's a little pricey! But not much I can do about that without reducing the specs :)

Antec are ok, personally i'd push for a Corsair PSU, but thats just me. :)

It all sounds good Kharzan. :thumb:

Thanks! Will be placing the order tomorrow methinks, just a final bit of haggling then I'm good to go.

Cheers for all the help!

I have an Antec Quattro 850 and its GREEEEEEEEAAAAAAATTT

Well done both kharzan and JudgE I am glad you are both happy with your choices:D

Judge is never happy tbh....

Everything's great until it fails.

In the last twelve years I've had three Antec PSU's fail on me.

Up to this moment I have never had a Corsair PSU fail on me.

Never had a Jeantech PSU fail on me either which is surprising as PC World sell Jeantech PSU's.

I have also read that Seasonic (read: good) make not only some Corsair PSU's but these days also make some Antec PSU's.

Which makes things all the more confusing.

Golden rule with PSU's: If it's cheap, it's crap, simple.

Well I've requested that a Corsair PSU is put in there, rather than whatever they have in stock at that time. So hopefully that should mitigate the issue, especially since my last PSU, which I discovered was an Enermax (not sure if they still exist, it was 5 years ago), failed after 4 years.
