new emails that are really a month old that reload every few minutes

Help. Every few minutes, I have to delete 28 "new"
emails...this is a brand new problem that started
yesterday. The same emails from October keep showing up
as new very few minutes...I've had to delete hundreds of
emails today. Why is this happening?

Is there some reason you aren't deleting messages from the POP server after
downloading them?

Assuming you don't have the option enabled to leave messages on the
server, contact your ISP to find out why the DELE command to their POP3
server doesn't work (which results in your e-mail client continually
trying to download e-mails that supposedly were deleted in your prior
mail polls). Of course, it might help to enable the troubleshooting log
so you can see exactly what POP3 commands got issued by your e-mail
client to their POP3 server.
