New emails not sent to Personal Folders Inbox

Outlook is not sending new emails to the Personal Folder inbox. I am running
Outlook 2003 with a Hotmail account. The Folder List shows the default
Personal Folder set and the Hotmail folder set. Emails are posted to the
Hotmail inbox folder but not the Personal Inbox Folder. There are no rules
running (Outook says it can't use rules with an http mail account). Sent
messages are automatically posted to the Sent Folder in the Personal Folder
list regardless of whether they are sent from the hotmail folders or the
outlook folders. I can't find any option I have checked (or unchecked) that
would disable this. Are incoming emails supposed to post to the Personal
Folder Inbox? Thanks for the help.

The Inbox in Personal Folders only gets mail from POP3 or Exchange accounts.
IMAP & HTTP (Hotmail) accounts have their own folder lists.

email you reply to from the hotmail inbox will put a copy of the sent
email in your Sent Items in the hotmail folders. When you reply to the
email you should see a little info bar on the top that says, this email
will be sent from <your hotmail email> or this email will be sent from
<your ISP email>. If you want to change where it is sent from then you
can click on the Account button and chage it to the other account. If
you send from your ISP (personal folders) account then it will place
the sent item in your personal folders sent items.
