New emails marked as Read

I connect to my mail server via IMAP on Outlook 2003.
Other accounts have access to the inbox as we share the same email address.
When other accounts read a new email it automatically marks as read in my
local inbox. It also gets striked out.
Any suggestions?

That's how imap works - it’s a server side account and changes to the
account are synced to Outlook. The strikeouts should be messages you
deleted or marked for deletion.
