New email getting sent to deleted items and junk folder

Running Outlook 2002. All rules and filters deleted. New incoming
messages get sent straight to the trash folder or the junk folder.
Any advice is much appreciated

Make sure you're not scanning incoming mail with an anti-virus or -spam
scanner.
 
Remove the account from Outlook, restart Outlook and then add the account
again.

I don't think that will have any effect.
