I just installed a new set of updated defender definitions. So I now have:

Defender version: 1.1.1347.0
Engine: 1.14.1508.0
Definition version: 1.14.1639.16 (created on 30/07/06)

Everything seems OK.

Sorry, I just realised this is old news!!! It's only just now that automatic
updates told me about the update.

I am still on:

Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1347.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1508.0
Definition Version: 1.14.1637.1

Created 25/07/06.

So you are the first one so far as Engel (our resident download
specialist) hasn't posted a link for manual downloads.

Ooh! (I hope there's a prize!)

Seriously though ... does it matter that I somehow missed the intermediate
update? Is that incorporated into the more recent one?

You are fine. There are circumstances in which manual updating can result
in inconsistent versioning--you might end up with an older engine version,
but current definitions. I don't believe that will happen with updating via
AutoUpdate or Windows Update.

Indeed--congratulations--I think Engel must be on vacation or have lost
power in the heat wave--you posted this one first--I was going to go look to
confirm, but didn't get around to doing it.
