have office 03, operating on win2000 ..

why does Acces always create / save a new database in 2000 format???

will my pc at home - win xp/access 02 - read / save files frokm the 03
version??

Access 2003 fully supports Access 2000 in order to provide maximum
flexibility. Your DB will automatically be saved as Access 2000 so that
others (who may not have Access '02 or '03) can view/run it.

Access 02 should be able to open an Access 2000 or '02 DB.

If you want to save your DB as a 2002 file, from the main database window,
select Tools-->Options-->Advanced Tab-->Default file format

Hope this helps!
